Learning Cities Conferences

Learning Cities Conference is a regular professional event that builds on the UNESCO Learning Cities initiative and supports the development of lifelong learning in cities. Its aim is to connect local governments, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and experts who focus on building learning communities and active citizenship.

The first year of the conference took place on 18 October 2024 in the Hall of Mirrors of the Primate’s Palace in Bratislava and focused on strategies for developing learning cities, sharing examples of good practice, and cooperation between cities. Representatives of UNESCO, EAEA (European Association for the Education of Adults), and the EUCEN network spoke at the event, presenting current European initiatives in the field of adult education.

The Learning Cities Conference highlights the importance of an inclusive approach, partnership, and shared learning as fundamental principles for developing learning cities in Slovakia and in the broader European context.
